HOT/HOV LANES
90 cars stopped for lane violations in mostly smooth debut for HOT lane (The Seattle Times, May 6): "60 stops were for solo drivers in the car-pool lanes and all were cited, facing a $124 fine. 30 were stopped for crossing a double white line and about 60 percent of them were cited at trooper discretion. That also carries a $124 fine." Read more

STMicroelectronics and Mobileye Deliver Second-Generation System-on-Chip for Vision-Based Driver Assistance Systems (News Blaze, May 7): "STMicroelectronics, a leader in the design and manufacture of automotive ICs, and Mobileye N.V., the leading provider of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to the automotive industry, today announced that the two companies have successfully sampled the second generation of their system-on-chip EyeQ2 for the vision-based driver assistance segment of the automotive market." $2.9M project to make it easier to gather traffic information (The Daily Record, May 5): "Downtown drivers and light rail riders can expect to see shorter commutes after an effort to better control the timing for traffic lights around central Baltimore. The city has reworked its system for adjusting stoplights, so transportation workers can change timing remotely when traffic is heavy." Read more
Iteris Selected by Boeing for $850,000 ITS Redevelopment Contract (Fox Business, May 6): "Iteris, Inc., a leader in the traffic management market that focuses on the application and development of advanced technologies, today announced it has been engaged by The Boeing Company to implement an adaptive traffic control system (ATCS) in conjunction with the redevelopment of the 261 acre Douglas Park site located in Long Beach, California."
